Synology® Closes Synology Assistant Beta Program

Taipei, Taiwan—September 11, 2009—Synology® Inc. today closed its Synology Assistant beta program which was open to all Disk Station users in August. "Taking account of sufficient comments and suggestions collected, we decide to close the beta program so as to focus on the accomplishment of the official release," said Edward Lin, marketing director of Synology.

The Synology Assistant allows installation of system firmware for a batch of Disk Stations simultaneously, and monitor CPU usage, memory usage, network flow and volume usage of multiple Disk Stations directly without logging into DSM 2.2 management UI. Moreover, users can now install Synology Assistant on Linux environment. The official release will also include compatibility for Mac 10.6.

Availability

Synology Assistant applies to all Disk Station models. The official release will be available for free download in October 2009.
