Synology® Releases May Peripherals Update with Newly Supported Three 2.5" and Six 3.5" Hard Drives

Taipei, Taiwan—May 19, 2009—Synology® Inc. today announced the compatibility of its 2009 Disk Station models with three 2.5" SATA hard drives, including Seagate ST9250421AS (250GB), Western Digital WD3200BEKT (320GB) and WD1600BEVT (160GB). All of the above models have successfully passed a series of stress and compatibility tests in the Synology laboratory and have been proven to be compatible with Disk Station models of x09 series once installed with the Synology 2.5" Disk Holder. With 2.5" hard drives, Synology Disk Station can now operate with minimal noise, less power, and higher reliability.

Six 3.5" SATA hard drives, including Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 (1TB), HDP725050GLA360 (500GB), Samsung HE103UJ (1TB), HD103UJ (1TB), HE753LJ (750GB) and HE502IJ (500GB), have also been proven to be compatible with the Disk Station models of x07, x08, and x09 series.
