Synology® Updated its Value Applications List with Thirteen Applications

Taipei, Taiwan—October 23, 2009—Synology® Inc. today announced that its Disk Station series works with recent version of thirteen open source PHP applications including Discuz! 7.0.0, Drupal 5.20/6.14, Joomla 1.5.14, LifeType 1.2.9, Moodle 1.9.5+, osCommerce 2.2rc2a, phpBB 3.0.5, phpMyAdmin 3.2.2, PHPWind 7.5, SimplePHPBlog 0.5.1.1, SQL Buddy 1.3.2, WordPress 2.8.4, and XOOPS 2.3.3b. All of the applications above have successfully passed a series of compatibility tests in the Synology laboratory and have been proven to be compatible with the newly released firmware, Disk Station Manager 2.2-0942.

Discuz! 7.0.0 – Discuz! features simple administration and friendly installation process, which allows users to have a Discuz! forum set up in minutes. With a wide range of plug-ins and templates, users can customize their Discuz! forum without limitation.

Drupal 5.20/6.14 – Drupal is a Content Management System. It is used as a back-end system for many different types of websites, ranging from small personal blogs to enterprise level. It has the abilities to register and maintain individual user accounts within a flexible and rich permission / privilege system. It can also create and manage menus, RSS feeds, customize page layout, perform logging, and administer the system.

Joomla 1.5.14 – Joomla is a Content Management System. It features page caching, RSS feeds, news flashes, blogs, polls, website searching, and language internationalization.

LifeType 1.2.9 – LifeType is a blogging platform with support for multiple blogs and users in a single installation.

Moodle 1.9.5+ – Moodle is an e-learning software platform, also known as a Course Management System, Learning Management System, or Virtual Learning Environment. It is designed to help educators create online courses with opportunities for rich interaction.

osCommerce 2.2rc2a – osCommerce is an e-commerce and online store-management software program.

phpBB 3.0.5 – phpBB is an abbreviation of PHP Bulletin Board. It provides administrators with much more control over every aspect of the forum software.

phpMyAdmin 3.2.2 – phpMyAdmin is a free software tool designed to manage the MySQL databases. It can perform various operations on databases, tables, fields, rows, execute SQL statements, and manage user accounts and permissions.

Synology also released the phpMyAdmin 3.2.0.1 package for easy installation. This phpMyAdmin package is an add-on to Disk Station Manager 2.1-0803 or later. After the installation, you will be able to run phpMyAdmin and manage MySQL databases stored on your Disk Station.

PHPWind 7.5 – PHPWind is a PHP scripting forum application from China. It is based on MySQL database and has large numbers of modules and templates.

SimplePHPBlog 0.5.1.1 – SimplePHPBlog is a flat file blog system that offers user-friendly installation.

SQL Buddy 1.3.2 – SQL Buddy is an open source, lightweight and intuitive MySQL database management tool.

WordPress 2.8.4 – WordPress is a blog publishing application and Content Management System. It features a template system, which includes widgets that can be rearranged without editing PHP or HTML code, as well as themes that can be installed and switched between.

XOOPS 2.3.3b – XOOPS is a Content Management System used for creating websites. It uses a modular architecture allowing users to customize, update and theme their websites.
