Clube Atletico Mineiro edits and stores the club's history with Synology's storage solutions

The history of Atletico Mineiro spans many years, and all this tradition is now only available through photos and videos - a collection that is difficult for fans and those interested in this traditional Brazilian club to access. This material is being digitized and organized to ensure easy access for all. Additionally, with almost all content being published, photographed, filmed, and created about the club today, there is a need for robust storage units with ample room for expansion. Another concern of the club is the preservation of all this content in case of a local disaster, which is why we need equipment and applications that allow for redundancy of this content in a remote location. With all this content, we also need a unit that allows us to collect, edit, and organize all this material before storing it in archival units.

Synology was introduced to Atletico Mineiro as a solution without the need to acquire other software for the entire storage and backup process, with the possibility of having over 1.4 Petabytes of storage in each unit. Thus, they opted for three SA3400 units populated with 16TB disks and SSD cache for the unit to be used for editing. Snapshot is being utilized for constant backup of the content being created and replicating the content to the archival unit. Additionally, Hyper Backup is being used to copy all this content to a remote unit in case of a disaster.

With Snapshot Replication, they no longer need to make copies to external drives because all the content they are working on is being copied much more frequently to the backup unit. With the content stored on the second SA3400, they can now make this material available on their media access portals for fans directly from the Synology NAS. Synology not only offered an economical solution to their storage issue but also provided them with complete peace of mind regarding their protection with advanced backup features. They are still discovering many more tools that Synology offers with the backup of their computers and servers through Active Backup for Business.
