Dual Authorization

Dual Authorization provides you with more secure privilege management features. You can set up limited viewing privileges for specific users, when these users need to operate advanced features, an authorized user will be required to enter a set of credentials in order to increase the privilege level of the users.

When Dual Authorization is enabled, you can log in to Surveillance Station with the default privilege profile or dual authorization privilege profile by entering a supervisor's username and password.

To create a dual authorization rule:

  1. Click Add.
  2. Select a user from the Account drop-down menu.
  3. Select a privilege profile from the Privilege profile drop-down menu.
  4. Set up a schedule for the dual authorization rule and click Next.
  5. Select the supervisors for the dual authorization rule.
  6. Click Finish.

Note:

  • You can set up at most 20 supervisors for each dual authorization rule.

To edit a dual authorization rule:

Select a dual authorization rule and click Edit to modify information such as privilege profile, activation schedule, and authorized supervisors.

To delete a dual authorization rule:

Select a dual authorization rule and click Delete.

To enable or disable a dual authorization rule:

  1. Select the dual authorization rule you want to enable or disable.
  2. Select Enable or Disable from the Enable drop-down menu.

To log in with a dual authorization privilege profile:

  1. Log out and re-log in to Surveillance Station.
  2. A pop-up window will appear to allow you to select the default privilege profile or dual authorization privilege profile.
  3. Select the dual authorization privilege profile and ask the supervisor to enter the supervisor account, password, and authorization time.
  4. Click OK to log in.
