Premium Automobiles Streamlines Surveillance With Synology Surveillance Station

Before adopting the surveillance solution offered by Synology, the monitoring setup for the two service center buildings involved lengthy and complex analog camera routing connections. To enable efficient and simultaneous monitoring, Premium Automobiles sought an easy-to-use and integrated video surveillance solution. This would allow onsite personnel to operate the system themselves and quickly retrieve and play back footage when evidence was needed.

The company implemented Synology's surveillance solution due to its seamless integration with existing infrastructure, user-friendly interface, and extensive support for various video surveillance cameras. One unit of the Synology RS2414+ and two units of VS360HD were installed to provide centralized storage and enable PC-less monitoring in the control rooms. The system is connected to 32 HD and Full HD cameras from various brands via a LAN network, allowing the Synology RS2414+ to offer scalable and centralized storage for both indoor and outdoor video footage.

This setup includes Surveillance Station, the advanced video monitoring system built into the Synology NAS. This system enables the IT administrator to easily manage cameras, analyze live views, and retrieve and playback footage using either a browser or a PC client. For real-time video monitoring, the VS360HD, a compact monitoring and playback device that supports most features of Surveillance Station, allows personnel on duty to view the live feed directly, eliminating the need for a dedicated computer. Onsite personnel can perform PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) actions, switch to the timeline to review recorded events or take snapshots to export to an external storage device, all using a USB mouse.
