Synology® announces VPN Plus beta release
Powerful, yet intuitive private network management
Taipei, Taiwan—October 27, 2016—Synology® Inc. today announced the beta availability of VPN Plus, a new application allowing enthusiasts and businesses to set up a powerful, on-premises VPN solution. Designed for Synology's router products, VPN Plus boasts an intuitive user experience, streamlined performance, as well as an array of tools to fine-tune and monitor access.
"In the past, setting up a robust VPN server was cost-prohibitive and presented a steep learning curve for smaller businesses. As threats grow and more employees work from home or travel, organizations are becoming more conscious of Internet security. With the introduction of VPN Plus, Synology aims to provide a refreshingly simple setup and user experience, so more businesses can protect their data without breaking the bank," said Sabrina Chen, Product Manager at Synology Inc.
VPN Plus includes the following features:
- Fast, no-hassle VPN service for all environments: VPN Plus introduces a new Synology SSL VPN service that includes optimized performance, improved privacy, and simple setup thanks to the client apps for Windows, Linux, and iOS. Support for more protocols, such as SSTP, OpenVPN, PPTP, and L2TP/IPSec, ensures VPN Plus integrates into all environments smoothly.
- Easy-to-use, clientless WebVPN: With VPN Plus's new WebVPN, network administrators can centralize access to all of their internal web services and intranets. When an employee needs to access the sales management system or human resources site, they can simply open a browser and use WebVPN to connect to the service securely and easily – without needing to set up a dedicated VPN client on their computer.
- Visualize and optimize network management: VPN Plus delivers comprehensive management and monitoring tools, so homes or businesses can fine-tune access permissions, limit bandwidth of specific users, and troubleshoot network issues.
Availability
VPN Plus is available for beta testing on Synology Router RT1900ac. To learn more, please visit https://www.synology.com/beta/2017_VPNPlusServer.
