How do I verify my phone number for my Synology Account?
Details
Phone verification is required for your Synology Account if you are using it to access your NAS located in China.
This article shows you how to verify your phone number depending on your Synology Account location.
Resolution
If your Synology Account location is set to China
- Sign in to account.synology.cn with your Synology Account.1
- A phone verification pop-up window will appear. Select Yes, I need to use Synology's Internet services in China and click Next.
- In the pop-up window, confirm that you want to change your current location to China and click Next.
- Enter your password in the Password field. Click Next.
- Enter your phone number in the Phone field. Click Send and wait for an SMS to be delivered to your phone. Enter the verification code on your phone and click Next.
- A message indicating that your phone number has been successfully verified will appear. Click OK to complete the phone verification.
If your Synology Account location is not set to China
- Sign in to account.synology.com with your Synology Account.
- Click Profile on the side menu.
- Click Account Information > Edit > Location, select China and click Apply.
- In the pop-up window, confirm that you want to change your current location to China and click Next.
- Enter your password in the Password field. Click Next.
- Enter your phone number in the Phone field. Click Send and wait for an SMS to be delivered to your phone. Enter the verification code on your phone and click Next.
- A message indicating that your phone number has been successfully verified will appear. Click OK to complete the phone verification.
Check the status of phone verification
- Sign in to account.synology.cn with your Synology Account.
- At Profile > Contact Information > Edit > Recovery Phone, check the status of your phone verification under the Recovery Phone field. If your phone number has been verified, you will not see any error messages.
- If your phone number has not been verified, you will see “Your phone number is pending verification”.
- Follow the phone verification process again to verify your phone number.

- Only +86 phone numbers are currently supported for phone verification.
- Apart from QuickConnect, you can use a private IP address or a third-party DDNS service to connect to Synology NAS.
