Synology^® Introduces DiskStation DS2419+

BELLEVUE, Wash— February 14, 2019—Synology Inc. today launched DiskStation DS2419+, a 12-bay desktop NAS enabling small- and medium-sized businesses to handle rapidly growing data from diverse applications. IT administrators can now be liberated from coping with expanding data as businesses grow.

Key features of DS2419+ include:

• Large and scalable storage space equivalent to standard rack servers: With the capability to support up to 12 drives in a single desktop chassis, DS2419+ provides immense storage space that is equivalent to a standard 2U rack server. Storage volume can further be expanded up to 336TB when connected to a DX1215 expansion unit.
• Quad-core CPU and expandable DDR4 memory up to 32GB: The 2.1 GHz quad-core CPU is capable of handling various storage tasks, and the on-board 4GB DDR4 SODIMM can further be expanded up to 32GB.
• PCIe 3.0 slot flexibly supports optional NIC or M.2 NVMe/SATA SSD M2D18 adapter card: Users can choose different add-on options, depending on their usage scenarios. In addition to the four built-in 1GbE ports, an optional network interface card is available to elevate networking throughput to 1,700 MBps. An M.2 NVMe/SATA SSD adapter card, M2D18, is also available to boost random IOPS performance.
• An advanced Btrfs file system offers 65,000 system-wide snapshots and 1,024 snapshots per shared folder: By leveraging the Btrfs file system, DS2419+ supports state-of-the-art data snapshot technology. It offers schedulable, near-instantaneous data protection which ensures that data in shared folders and virtual machines in iSCSI LUNs remain safe and available in the event of a disaster.

Ultimate Backup Destination

The size and scalable nature of the DS2419+ make it a perfect centralized backup destination. Synology's Active Backup Suite, one of the many business applications that comes on DiskStation Manager, is able to back up Windows computers and servers, VMware virtual machines, and Office 365 and G Suite to a central destination. Flexible restoration options, including a full image restore or single file recovery, create a cohesive disaster recovery plan that can help safeguard data. With the Active Backup Suite, businesses can configure and monitor all backup tasks from a single place, and can rest assure that all of their important information is backed up in a unified solution, without any additional licensing fees.
