Why is there a public cloud quota error when I sync my Synology NAS to Baidu NetDisk via Cloud Sync?

Purpose

You may encounter an error stating that your public cloud has reached the quota limit while syncing your Synology NAS to Baidu NetDisk via Cloud Sync. This article demonstrates how to fix the quota error when syncing your Baidu NetDisk to your Synology NAS via Cloud Sync.

Environment

  • Baidu NetDisk

Resolution

On January 2, 2020, Baidu NetDisk has enforced a 100 GB storage limitation for data synced to the Synology Exclusive Space folder via Cloud Sync. For more information, please refer to Baidu's website.

To fix the issue, please follow the steps below.

  1. Please go to Package CenterCloud SyncStop  > Yes.
  2. There are two methods to choose from:
    • Sign in to Baidu NetDisk and delete the data synced via Cloud Sync until they are less than 100 GB.
    • Sign in to DSM > File Station, delete the data synced to Baidu NetDrive or move them to other locations until they are less than 100 GB.
  3. When all data are less than 100 GB, go to Package CenterCloud Sync and click Run to resume the syncing process.1

Notes:

  1. When you choose bidirectional sync for your task, deleting any files on your Baidu NetDisk will cause the data to be deleted on your Synology NAS, and vice versa.
