Frequently Asked Questions How does the VS600HD work? The VS600HD is a complete Surveillance Station client solution in one neat box, operated by logging into NAS. The setup is effortless – power on, connect the network cable, attach it to your monitor, and optimize your experience by connecting a mouse and keyboard. How can the VS600HD be used as part of a Surveillance Station solution? VisualStation is a client that lets users access Synology Surveillance Station, our video management system (VMS), without using a separate PC or mobile device client. By attaching a USB keyboard and mouse, linking up to 2 HDMI displays, and connecting it to a Synology recording server and IP cameras over LAN, you can create a scalable Surveillance Station solution. Does the VS600HD work with my non-Synology surveillance infrastructure? No, the VS600HD is designed to work exclusively with Synology Surveillance Station. How many video streams can I display if I use IP cameras at varying resolutions? The VS600HD supports up to 50 video streams with the same resolution. If you plan to combine streams from IP cameras with different resolutions, you can refer to the specifications supported by the VS600HD. For example, with H.265, if you want to set up both 720p and 1080p cameras, the specifications are as follows:
  • 720p (1280x720): 600 FPS, up to 50 channels
  • 1080p (1920x1080): 380 FPS, up to 38 channels
You can configure 19 channels at 1080p (10 FPS per channel), which allows the remaining performance to support 25 channels at 720P (12 FPS per channel). To combine IP camera streams of different resolutions, please contact us for more information.
What size is the VESA mount? The monitor mounting adapter is compatible with both MIS-D 75 and MIS-D 100 VESA-compliant surfaces.
