Release Notes for Storage Manager

Storage Manager is a built-in application for managing storage on your Synology NAS. It offers a centralized interface to allocate storage capacity, monitor usage, check your drives' health, and use advanced features such as hot spare drives and SSD cache.

  1. Storage Manager 1.0.0-00502 requires DSM 7.2.2 and above.

Fixed Issues

  1. Fixed an issue where SSD Cache Advisor on models with a 32-bit CPU architecture might show an incorrect recommended SSD cache size.
  2. Fixed an issue where the package could get stuck on the "Loading" page after removing one of the multiple SSD caches from SA3200D.
  3. Fixed an issue where the SSD cache status for SHR or single-volume storage pools might not display correctly after updating to DSM 7.2.1.
  4. Fixed an issue where certain drives could not be deactivated after removing them from their storage pool.

What's New

  1. Storage Manager has been modularized into a package to provide better system maintenance and update flexibility.
  2. NFS clients can now access information on shared folder quotas.
  3. If a firmware update is required for Synology drives, it will be automatically performed during the DSM update. (Please note that the Synology NAS must be connected to the internet for the firmware update to take place.)

Fixed Issues

  1. Fixed an issue where manual updates to the drive database may not be successful.
  2. Added a log entry to record errors that may be encountered during the Secure Erase process.
  3. Improved the mechanism for detecting drive statuses to provide more accurate and reliable information about installed drives.
  4. Fixed an issue where power supply information of expansion units might not be displayed on the Storage Overview page.
  5. Fixed an issue where auto-unlocking of encrypted volumes might not work when a Synology NAS is configured as both a remote key server and client using KMIP.
  6. Fixed an issue where, after a DSM update, the NVMe SSD caches of a high-availability cluster might stop working.
