Release Notes for Active Insight

Important Note

1. Updating to Active Insight 3.0.3 will optimize the File Activity database by converting its format, which may take some time and could temporarily affect system performance during the process. This version updates the File Activity statistics to use approximate value calculations, reducing database size and improving I/O performance. (Learn more about File Activity feature)

Compatibility & Installation

1. The File Activity feature requires DSM 7.2 or above.

What's New

1. The File Activity feature can now be enabled or disabled through the Active Insight web portal. It is disabled by default after updating to this version.
2. Added support for automatic snapshots of WORM-protected shared folders using the File Activity feature.
3. Added support for logging SMB connection records in the Login Activity.

1. Fixed an issue where temporary files from the File Activity feature might consume excessive system space.

Known Issues & Limitations

1. File Activity Analytics now displays only the top ten active users to improve performance.
2. Snapshot protection feature for File Activity is not available for Surveillance Station recording folders.
3. In Synology High Availability environments, after a switchover or failover, the File Activity feature may become disabled.
